Join the DLP
Employing a highly rigorous admissions process, the Delaware Leadership Project identifies and admits an elite cohort of outstanding educators each year. Delaware Leadership Project participants bring diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to the program.
One of the most effective methods for identifying promising aspiring principals is through recommendations from people who share the program’s core beliefs and know individuals who fit our instructional and leadership criteria. If you know people who may be good candidates for the program, please direct them to visit this website and attend one of our information sessions.
Program Prerequisites
In order to be eligible for the Delaware Leadership Project, candidates must have:
- A master’s degree in any field from a regionally accredited college or university
- A minimum of five years of teaching experience
- Valid teacher certification from any state or from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
- A graduate school GPA of 3.0 or higher
- A willingness to commit in writing to working in the Delaware public school system for 3 years upon graduation from the program
Selection Criteria
If a candidate meets all the requirements for eligibility, s/he will be assessed during the application and interview process for the following traits:
